Accounting and Reporting Manager
Location: Cyprus (full-time/remote format)
What you’ll be doing:
We’re looking for an experienced specialist who will take full responsibility for the company’s accounting in Cyprus. The key task for the near future is to bring the existing database in order, restore accounting for previous periods, and set up a systematic workflow for the future.
📍 Responsibilities
- Accounting restoration: Conducting an audit and restoring accounting for previous periods based on primary documentation (bank statements, invoices, bills)
- Full-cycle accounting: Maintaining all areas of accounting in accordance with Cyprus legislation and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Managing areas:
- Accounts Receivable (AR): accounting for revenue and controlling receipts, balances of settlements with debtors
- Accounts Payable (AP): accounting for expenses and settlements with creditors
- Payroll: calculating salaries, taxes, and social insurance contributions
- Taxes: calculating and preparing data for submitting tax returns (VAT, Corp Tax, other mandatory fees)
- Working in the accounting system: Entering and processing data in QuickBooks Online, optimizing system work for business needs
- Reporting: Preparing financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet) for management and external auditors
- Tax administration: Ensuring compliance of all operations with EU VAT and local tax legislation
📍 Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience working as an Accountant/Finance Manager in Cyprus for at least 2 years
- In-depth knowledge of Cyprus tax legislation, including EU VAT, payroll legislation, and social insurance contributions
- Practical experience in accounting restoration — ability to sort out 'legacy' and put everything in its place
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or similar systems at an advanced level
- Attention to detail, high productivity, and ability to work with a large volume of primary documentation
- Knowledge of English at Upper-Intermediate level or higher (for working with documentation and legislation)
- Valid work permit in Cyprus (for non-EU residents) or EU/Cyprus citizenship
